I had the pleasure of working for Jon at Tiptree while he was the Controller and learned a lot from him. It was my first job out of public accounting, and there was a steep learning curve, but Jon made it a lot easier as he took the time to mentor myself and the rest of the accounting team under him. He is extremely knowledgeable in many areas such as financial reporting, consolidations, and accounting policy and was able to bestow that knowledge onto us. Jon helped implement Tiptree’s first general ledger system, Great Plains, and improved a lot of the processes around financial reporting.
