As a member of the train crew, I am responsible for the operational and safety duties. Specific job responsibilities of this position include: ensuring that the train is on schedule, ensuring that hazardous rail cars are picked up or dropped off in a timely manner, ensuring that the train follows safety practices and rules, controlling train movement while in reverse, coupling and decoupling cars, and various customer service requests, ensuring that all members of the crew are following all company as well as site specific rules. Assist with track maintenance such as removing and replacing railroad ties, check switches to make sure they are able to be fully thrown in either direction, make sure tie plates are placed in the right position and spikes are driven correctly. I have been assigned to operate the following equipment to perform assigned tasks. I have operated a skid steer loader, a backhoe, I have also operated a train locomotive to move rail cars to the designated loading or unloading area or storage tracks. Show less
