This work includes electrical distribution for mission critical projects, electrical calculations, arc flash hazard calculations, lightning protection, and to coordinate with clients on their needs and requirements, coordinating with other disciplines to ensure a complete and successful project. Other systems involved in projects include communications systems, public address, interlock systems, and many others. Mr. Jonathan Lee Hartman, PE served as Professional Engineer with Parkhill Smith & Cooper Inc. in Amarillo, TX. He was born and raised in Canyon, Texas then attended Baylor University receiving his Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer engineering while working 20 hours a week in a work study program helping to maintain the campus computer system with Baylor’s IT Department. Upon Graduation he gained employment with Parkhill Smith & Cooper Inc. after working summer internships with them. During his employment with PSC, Jonathan’s focus was on electrical systems related to vertical construction including power distribution, lighting systems and controls, fire alarm system, and communications systems. He worked on over 300 projects including award winning projects like Texas Facilities Commission Texas Department of Public Safety in Lubbock, TX, Lubbock Cooper ISD Laura Bush Middle School Lubbock, TX, Jayne Ann Miller Elementary School Lubbock, TX, U.S. Department of Defense Education Activity Heroes Elementary School Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and El Paso Independent School District Tom Lea Jr. Elementary School (E-16) El Paso, TX. Jonathan is active in the local engineering community and has served as Chairman of the local IEEE Panhandle Section and Co-Chair for the IEEE Education committee that facilitates the IEEE Panhandle Section Bi-Annual Seminar. He serves on Baylor University Electrical and Computer Engineering Board of Advocates to serve and advance the engineering community. He is an active member of Polk Street United Methodist Church, Texas Association of Sports Officials Panhandle Chapter, and Junior Achievement.
