Drainage Schemes – Residential Design of on-site foul sewer networks to be discharged into the surrounding sewer network. Design of on-site surface sewer networks which to be discharged into the surrounding sewer network (or to soak-away). Modelling of storm water drainage network to ensure compliance with Sewers for Adoption 6th edition surcharging / flooding requirement. Production of drainage working drawings, including construction details, and setting out of key points. Submission of all necessary calculations and drawings to obtain planning discharge. Flood Risk Assessments/Drainage Strategy Following on from the second year of my career at THDA where I produced some Flood Risk Assessment’s for various development sites, I have been exposed to a few sites of varied complexity. The main purpose of a FRA is to establish whether a proposal has future risk of flooding, therefore it is down to the designer to come up with a drainage strategy and to provide a betterment on the existing situation. I have produced FRA's both residential and commercial schemes. Signage Strategy Designs I have taken ownership and produced some detailed Sign Design to BS EN 12899.1, Traffic Signs, Regulations and General Directions 2016, Traffic Sign Manual (latest) and Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) and Direction and Use of directional Traffic Signs LTN 1/94. During my sign designs I often had to liaise with Local Authorities and agree on suitable, long lasting and safe designs. Some aspects of my designs included:- • Roundabout design • Improvement works to grade separate junctions • Signal crossings • Provision of highway infrastructure to serve a new layout • S278 access schemes • S38 Residential schemes onsite and off-site signage
