    • Associate Director - Non-Financial Risks
      • Sep 2019 - Jul 2020

    • Divisional Manager - Non-Financial Risks
      • Dec 2017 - Sep 2019

The main responsibility of this role is the overseeing of the Renewals and New Business Teams on the Non-Financial Risks side of the business working closely alongside the Managers of each of the respective teams. It enables a holistic approach to be installed and ensure the teams work closely together. The team values and methods being aligned provide a more unified outlook and consistency of service to be provided to our brokers. The collaborative efforts of both the individuals and managers within these teams provide a broader potential to share knowledge and identify business opportunities. Given the platform provided and the heightened responsibilities, I want to ensure the best methods are in place for both the individuals to achieve personal targets as well as the teams achieving overall targets. There is also heightened involvement in the managing of the books of businesses and relationships with both our Insurers and brokers. Further, I am also able to devote time to specific projects that I believe will benefit the business as a whole going forward. An additional responsibility is providing back up and support to the Broking Department. During busy periods/holiday/unexpected absence or indeed wherever required, I look to assist in the broking appointments at Insurer offices and within Lloyd's of London. Ensuring technical knowledge is evident, management of individual relationships with underwriters and developing high levels of trust has been key in this role. These responsibilities continue to be combined with the day-to-day handling of individual accounts on the Renewal and New Business sides. This involves (as applicable) everything from the renewal invitation, to handling the risk once it is submitted, marketing the risk, formalising terms including the reasoning behind those which are afforded, client meetings, finalising cover, mid-term adjustments and any associated administration with each of the risks.

    • New Business Manager - Construction IT & Miscellaneous
      • Mar 2016 - Nov 2017

Management of the New Business book as well as the individuals within the Team. This was an exciting opportunity to continually evolve with the industry to identify new and growing areas. It also allowed for the continued development of skills in terms of team management and creating an empowering climate for individuals to operate within and push their personal development. As well as dealing with Insurer relationships and heightened responsibilities within the broking of risks, developing and mainatining relationships with our wholesale broker network was incredibly important to myself and MGB. Collating and interpreting the associated MI allowed an intrinsic insight into the business and how relationships could be managed. There was increased involvement with other departments and the day to day activities of the business as a whole. It also included a key role in terms of the development of a small book of Australian Professional Indemnity business. The continued developments within the Cyber market meant that this was one of the key development lines of business and appropriate resources were dedicated to the development of this line. This role was combined with the day to day role of handling the larger renewal cases on the Non-Financial Risks side of the business and dealing with/allocation of new business risks submitted to MGB via our wholesale broker network.
