I first met Jonathan while he was serving in the capacity of the GFI/Kerio Channel Account Manager for our IT consultancy, 215 Tech. I speak for myself and my team members when I say it has truly been a pleasure doing business as well as developing a friendship with him. Whenever customers come into a business, the first employee they see are the customer service representatives and the cashier. This is the front end of the business, the back end being those behind-the-scenes workers who keep the business running. The front-end workers are overseen by the front-end supervisor, who ensures that customer satisfaction remains at its peak. The front-end supervisor oversees all of the tasks carried out by the front-end employees, provides training to new front-end employees and evaluates these employees' work performance. The front-end supervisor oversees employee work and break schedules. Front-end supervisors often perform many of the same duties that the other front-end employees carry out, especially during busy periods. Employees consult the front-end supervisor whenever a problem occurs with a customer or with equipment. At the end of each day, the front-end supervisor fills out all reports delivered to upper management, including keeping track of cash register balances. Front-end supervisors generally work the standard 40-hour work week. Some front-end supervisors go on call whenever another supervisor cannot come to work, and many front-end supervisors have to work night shifts. Sometimes the front-end supervisor has to deal with angry customers, which can become unpleasant. Work as a cashier often requires that workers remain on their feet all day. Many front-end supervisors started off as front-end employees and were promoted to the position of supervisor after demonstrating fantastic work and showing a potential for leadership. Front-end supervisors must remain aware of the departmental policy of the company they work for. Interpersonal skills are necessary, since front-end supervisors not only need to work well with their staff but also need to lead by example for their employees. Show less
