It’s difficult to put into words quite how valuable Jonathan’s skillset is. His ability to craft exemplary, dynamite-infused copy is a given, but his unique and truly noteworthy skills as a manager are deserving of real fanfare. Jonathan made it clear from the start of our time working together that he was there for our entire team – in both the traditional corporate sense (giving us clear objectives and processes to follow so that ‘doing our job’ was as smooth and streamlined as possible), but also as an advocate, a cheerleader, that he was ‘on our side’. Jonathan is incredibly smart, funny, self-deprecating, and brave – he is open about his hopes and aspirations, but also about where he feels lacking. This culture of openness and vulnerability set the tone for the entire copywriting team. We felt emboldened to share new (sometimes ‘out there’) ideas, we knew that it was a safe space to make mistakes and learn, to ask questions when we felt unsure, to celebrate each other, and to feel part of a team that truly cared about each other. I truly envy the company and colleagues that Jonathan goes on to work with – his dynamism, talent, leadership, and friendship are rare qualities indeed.
