Subsequently developed a 2020 ‘zero-deforestation’ palm oil strategy for the business. • Built and supported advocacy programmes outside of Tesco supply chains, for example through producer platforms in Indonesia and other producing countries, to support sectoral transformation • Led the development of Tesco’s commitment to 100% sustainability sourced wood and paper by 2020, working with global sourcing teams to deliver year-on-year increases in the proportion of certified sustainable wood and paper products, on target for 2020.• Headed up the development and implementation of a sustainable seafood strategy for the business including tuna, a key seafood purchase for customers, resulting in two industry awards from the Marine Stewardship Council in 2016 and 2017, supportive media coverage and a turnaround in the perception of Tesco with positive affirmation from previously critical NGO’s.• Led on the organization of an industry Roundtable on Sustainable Tuna with key supplier partners, brandowners, Govt. and NGO representatives that helped to create a shift in the global tuna industry towards more sustainable sourcing practices
