Guiding in Alaska with ATA was an invigorating experience that brought me plenty of transferable skills. - Strategic Communication to Guests - Briefly train guests on how to operate the kayak, what to do in the event on an emergency, and explain the route. - Train new recruits on how to properly manage their time during the tour, and how to communicate a wide variety of situations to their guests. - Safely perform rescue missions when a guest becomes too tired or has an issue; and keep a safe viewing distance from wildlife such as Eagles, Seals, and Whales. - Trip logistics - Trip reporting Guiding and managing tours in the wilderness wasn't my only duty. I also worked in photography, which included developing my sales skills. - Managing team of Photographers - Operations - Sales Show less
