The Clearing is a more commercial breed of brand consultancy. We create clear and defendable territory for our clients' brands. We’re an experienced team of strategists, writers and designers who have advised many of the world’s iconic brands. We work with ambitious businesses who understand that great, commercially effective work comes from a mixture of conviction, creativity and collaboration. That’s what produces the most exciting ideas. And that’s why we’re in business.

The role I fulfil is to provide creative direction to the in-house design department, and maintain brand consistency across all the advertising collateral. The artistic content varies massively from contemporary singer-songwriters, to world famous classical orchestras, literature events and experimental dance shows, to art exhibitions at the Hayward Gallery. The design department is responsible for all print advertising, in national press and large scale external advertising, as well as creating festival or event brands, which are then rolled out across all digital platforms. At Atelier Works I was exposed to every stage of the design process. From the first stages of creating a brand with name creation, developing an identity and designing logos, to art working images and typesetting books. The range of clients with which I worked, from 5RB, a barristers chambers, and the Royal Mail, to start-up companies, gave an invaluable insight to the importance of relationships.
