These highly secure servers have no microprocessors or operating system, and were available in both standard data center and rugged form factors for airborne and tactical deployments. I created the overall system architecture and led the design, development, supply chain and manufacture of these systems. I also performed the detailed design of all non-FPGA special functions such as anti-tamper and time distribution features. As a senior manager, I have extensive experience preparing for and presenting to both customers and investors. The company designed and manufactured dynamically reconfigurable FPGA based systems for data center and rugged airborne applications, as well as associated high level language compilers. I was a Co-Founder of SRC, along with the late Seymour Cray, and was initially the Chief Hardware Technologist and Vice President of Hardware Development. In this role I set the strategic direction of the company and led the hardware design and integration efforts for SRC’s systems. In the early years I also performed the detailed design of the company’s Hi-Bar crossbar switch including its multiple FPGAs using Lucent and Xilinx parts. I also built the entire hardware engineering team of approximately 20 engineers that boasted less than a 1% turnover rate during the 20 year history of the company. In January 2004, I was appointed President and CEO of SRC and remained very active in new product design and customer interaction. In addition to these technical tasks, I also performed all of the typical financial, HR and investor related CEO duties. My patent portfolio contains 27 U.S. patents including the invention of SRC’s reconfigurable MAP® processor and SRC's IMPLICIT+EXPLICIT system architecture. Show less
