I worked with Jon on a Guidewire PolicyCenter project for a regional P&C insurer in Central Connecticut. Jon is a very talented developer familiar with a variety of technologies. He demonstrated the ability to learn new technologies quickly. One of Jon's key skills is knowing the right questions to ask. He has the ability to analyze a scenario, contextualize it and clearly define the problem. Once the problem is sufficiently defined, he is able to come up with practical solutions. He's familiar with the SDLC and comfortable with Agile SCRUM methodology. He actually works quite well in an agile development environment because he is so amenable to change . . . he does however know when he needs to put a stake in the ground. It's been a real privilege to work with Jon and I would definitely recommend him.

Jon is the consumate teammate. When something needed to be done, he took initiative and found a way to add value. He also has great communication skills and a sense of diplomacy, even when dealing with difficult people. He was equally proficient leading a project as he was being a team member. I also found Jon to be a quick learner and highly adaptive. At the Patrons Group, our IT staff was so small that Jon had to wear many hats. He joined our staff with very little experience and quickly became a leader and subject matter expert in many different technical areas, including desktop support, Windows server maintenance, web development, network infrastructure, business analysis and project management.

Developing an internal multi-lingual enterprise application, called Symphony, for managing work queues, services, products, and clients to support STR’s product testing line of business for users across the world. Part of a large team of developers and business analysts. Symphony is an n-tiered web application written in C# on the 3.5 .NET Framework utilizing SQL Server 2005 for the backend database. The UI utilizes a custom framework of controls that encapsulate Component Art controls. The SOA layer consists of multiple services to support the application and for future development. Major services include a Data Access service that handles IO operations with SQL Server, a Domain Objects service that defines all of STR’s business entities, a Validation framework that validates the DTOs against business rules, and a Business Logic service. Responsible for development across all layers and the UI, from coding page markups to creating new stored procedures in the database and passing them up through the SOA layer. This includes creating the Domain Object and writing validation rules for the validation service. Show less
