When a bacterium causes an infection, our immune system attempts to isolate and kill it. In response, the bacterium fights back using molecular weapons we call toxins. We study how some of these toxins work in our favorite pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa. www.jallenlab.com When a bacterium causes an infection, our immune system attempts to isolate and kill it. Sep 2011 - Jul 2019
Postdoctoral research fellow in the laboratory of Alan Hauser. Our research focuses on the pathogenesis of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. We are applying a novel genomics-based approach coupled with directed bioinformatics to identify novel virulence determinants in the accessory genome of this important pathogen.
