I led the team of internal, home & offshore software developers to deliver project work. I was responsible for defining the architecture used to build magazine subscription & store front eCommerce web sites and api's hosted in Azure that are available worldwide 24/7/365 that scale on demand to handle a varying amount of user traffic.• In 2019 our largest client running on the NextGen eCommerce platform achieved over 100,000 orders equating to £1.7 million in revenue.• To improve code quality after an audit I implemented Sonar Cloud & Lint on our eCommerce code base and the lead developer then rolled it out to other code bases.• I migrated our eCommerce platform (with a large code base) from MVC 5 to Asp.Net Core 2.2 and then to 3.0. • One of the largest new features I proposed to management and then built was that we extend our eCommerce store platform to include selling merchandise products alongside magazine subscriptions.• I built restful web api’s using Serverless Azure Functions for our clients to call so their mobile apps will allow access to its content if the customer have a valid magazine subscription.• I continue to review and improve our continuous integration, deployment and automated testing practices which now allow us to deploy multiple times to production each day with zero downtime. • I constantly challenge & drive forwards the levels of quality delivered by the team by ensuring our code coverage value remains high, code is reviewed, penetration tests are performed & security is considered during analysis & development.• I stay up to date on new and upcoming technology trends that I can recommend to the management team to improve our products, decrease costs or help reduce technical debt.• I review and sign-off development estimates.• I have experience recruiting and interviewing developers in the UK and offshore, and working with agencies. I proposed to management, designed and then led the development team of 7 to re-develop from the ground up the companies shopping cart web sites. We produced next generation sites that are hosted in Azure, utilise a responsive design, are quick and provide a new revenue stream. This helped secure the company some new large clients (which have some well known magazine titles).I lead the way in introducing cutting edge technologies to the team such as MVC 5, TFS 2017, Visual Studio 2017, Microsoft Azure, Continuous Delivery, Azure Functions and Automated unit & Selenium testing in order to improve the quality of the products for our clients. I introduced continuous delivery to fully automate our website releases which has totally removed the human errors that previously occurred.I reviewed our current azure hosting approach then wrote Powershell & ARM templates to automate the creation and migration to a new azure environment for hosting our websites. This resulted in us more than halving our monthly hosting cost.I designed and built a new environment so we can run more automated selenium tests as part of our continuous integration build that runs when we release our websites.The company won 5 new clients and I managed the development teams to deliver them all a customised version of our ecommerce platform.Worked with another senior developer to plan & migrate our TFS servers to VSTS without causing any downtime for our developers.
