Associate, Chemical Sciences Division
-
May 2012 - Dec 2012
The Chemical Sciences Division at NOAA investigates chemical and physical processes that influence the Earth’s atmosphere and affect climate change, air quality, and the ozone layer. • Developed code on a microprocessor to rapidly calculate exponential decay constants from analog waveforms on cavity ring-down instruments to allow for on-the-fly data compression and interpretation.

The Chemical Sciences Division at NOAA investigates chemical and physical processes that influence the Earth’s atmosphere and affect climate change, air quality, and the ozone layer. • Constructed and programmed an electromagnetic molecular mobility analyzer to allow for easy broad spectrum chemical analysis by particle mass and shape. This was used for calibrating other instruments. • Maintained and processed data from multiple instruments during a five week CalNex air quality study… Show more The Chemical Sciences Division at NOAA investigates chemical and physical processes that influence the Earth’s atmosphere and affect climate change, air quality, and the ozone layer. • Constructed and programmed an electromagnetic molecular mobility analyzer to allow for easy broad spectrum chemical analysis by particle mass and shape. This was used for calibrating other instruments. • Maintained and processed data from multiple instruments during a five week CalNex air quality study in Ontario, CA in 2010 (May-July). This involved taking data from the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
