I started working at College Access Television during the beginning of my sophomore year at IPFW. It was a work study job that was offered by the school. The main duty of the job was to ensure that anything that was going to be broadcast on air was running fine. If any technical difficulties arisen, I had to alleviate that problem in a timely fashion because that program that was being played was on air. Another role of my position was to assist the director on productions. Operating studio cameras and recording the Music, Sporting, and various other important events held by IPFW. Show less

I have always volunteered to coach tennis for several organizations every summer since 2009, but that was always though school. Teaching at this organization was different because my students were from all over Northern Indiana. Teaching tennis through this organization allowed me to pursue my passion while I help my students to pursue theirs. I managed and carried out lesson plans for both the intermediate and beginner tennis classes. By the end of the session, I would have to determine where each of my students are at skill-wise and what they would have to work on for the next session. From what I have gain for working for this organization is the ability to adapt to each student to fulfill their needs. Show less

At the time, I have always aspired to work in the healthcare field. I have gained several experiences during my time at this company. A skill that I have gained was establishing interpersonal communication. At this workplace, establishing communication with a patient was very vital. Effective communication helps the physical therapists understand the patient better and developed a better diagnosis for the patient. I worked with the Occupational Therapist at the clinic as well. Most patients who go to see an OT are likely to have a psychological problem induced from the trauma the patient experienced. I had to help the patient cope with these psychological problems.
