Analytical work: Analyzed large clinical and experimental datasets using R to generate reports for physicians and collaborating scientists. Created a new script in MATLAB to expedite retinal segmentation process and reducing bias in the analysis As part of multiple Phase II clinical trials, excelled in resolving issues due to unforeseen circumstances by creatively improvising solutions in a fast-paced environment Recommended data standardization and usage for protection of data integrity. Updated organizational databases to improve and streamline data collection. Research: Conducted research on visual system during multiple sclerosis through a mix of translational and biomolecular techniques such as inducing EAE, genotyping, ELISA, transcardial perfusion, murine CNS tissue extraction, immunohistochemistry, cryosection, microscopy, transcorneal electrical stimulation, and optical coherence tomography (OCT). Discovered a protocol and script to analyze retinal cross sections derived from immunofluorescence. In the clinic, implemented cognitive tests and measured visual evoked potentials and operated various retinal imaging equipment such as OCT, fluorescence angiography, and recorded eye motion videos with a scanning laser ophthalmoscope along with standard visual acuity, visual fields, vitals, pupillometry, and visual evoked potentials. Taught other UCSF Lab personnel proper animal handling, conducting visual exams in both humans and animals, research protocols, and graphic design
