John Miller was my ambassador upon arrival to Raytheon Professional Services. A job in which he took seriously. As it turned out he took many things to task and did them with a precision detail. John has a keen eye for the details. As a producer he always had his projects organized and ready for production in a timely matter. He was always teaching as he went. If something wasn’t clear, he never got annoyed or aggravated, he continued to teach until the task was understood. Working with John was quite easy. His professionalism and eagerness to get his hands dirty, motivated not only myself but others around him to do the same. I learned a great many useful things from John over the years. How to break down a technical bulletin and turn it into a video script. How to organize a work flow and prepare for an edit. How to break down a script to ensure all the fine details were accounted for. And finally how to communicate to others in a demeanor to motivate and achieve the final goal.

I had the pleasure of working with John as both team mate and his supervisor on a variety of video and interactive projects (primarily multilingual training and marketing). John started in supporting roles but quickly transitioned into his own Producer/Director responsibilities. I think anyone who knows John will tell you that as a teammate he is always ready to dive in and help – and his versatility in a wide range of production roles means you get all that capability focused on your project’s success. Having said that, please don’t imagine that John is going to shove his opinion on you and take over, he’s quietly effective as grip, videographer, writer or project leader and always has ideas/plans for project challenges when they arise. I also became John’s boss during this time and I can say that no matter what I threw at him – he met or exceeded expectations and deadlines. He was also very skillful at any role I needed him to play – audio, video or photography. Last but not least - anyone who gets John on their team will be fortunate to have him.

While working through Volt, I was Associate Producer of video-based training. I created a variety of short-form videos as well as aiding in the production of a monthly live broadcast for General Motors service technicians. The experience allowed me to start working with large video crews and dealing with 5-6 figure video budgets. It also allowed me to work with both union and non-union talent and film professionals to achieve the highest quality products for our General Motor's client.
