John is an absolute powerhouse of a Technical Producer. His ability to client interface, while calling the show, while problem solving in advance of any problems is unlike much of what I've seen in the industry. He truly has a solve for anything and everything, even outside of his technical scope. I wholeheartedly trust John to manage a project, a show, a client, with the utmost professionalism, concern, and right stacked priorities in mind. His demeanor is calm and steadfast and that is precisely what this wild industry needs. Very thankful to have had the opportunity to work with John on a 16 day run of a program and look forward to any and all projects where we can team up.

John joined us last year during a major re-structuring of the operational procedures and protocols within our summer concert venue. John was the best decision I made last year and I was pleasantly surprised by his ambition and dedication to the venue. I have already offered him the position again for this upcoming season and luckily for Stern Grove Festival...he has accepted.

Future Fires is a startup enterprise and a passion project. Our mission is to build a bridge between art and technology in the Bay Area. We produce a live event (Luminary, SF) and we foster the dialogue around emerging arts in the Bay Area through digital media. My contribution to this project is assembling the team, maintaining focus on short and mid-term goals, helping to raise capital by seeking investors, and building and running our live events. It’s an exciting opportunity to be a part of a tough and nimble startup. Show less

Managing one of the two stages at the 25,000-person Treasure Island Music Festival involves weeks of pre-production, including advancing 12 bands, each one with different hospitality, transportation, and equipment needs, and keeping the festival running on time, and the fans electrified. One of the highlights of my carreer-to-date. • Director of Production / Super Bowl City
      • Jun 2015 - Mar 2016

As director, I built and led the team tasked with producing Super Bowl City, a 7-day, million-person fan village located in downtown San Francisco. I oversaw a $2.5mm production budget for Super Bowl City, and drove creative and technical development on our Feature Activation, a $1.5mm interactive gaming experience celebrating the concept of fan energy. I expanded a small revenue stream of Super Bowl City from break-even to generating $250k of revenue. I negotiated several partnerships, including two high dollar partnership deals for the Host Committee ($750k and $200k), and finally brought over two dozen regional professionals to the our operations team, making a significant difference in the overall quality of the productions. This was a challenging and rewarding 10-month contract spanning numerous city, state and national agencies (The Port, Rec & Park, Mayors Office, SFFD, SFPD, DHS, City of SF, and the NFL) requiring us to build consensus between civic and private entities. Also under my purview was running a vast, complex RFP process, required to source the building materials, labor groups, and services required to host over 1 million NFL fans in our footprint. One year later, we still hear compliments from people around the Bay Area regarding the work we did on this massive, high profile project. Show less

Re-tooled the transportation operations for a 60-000 person 3-day outdoor music festival in Golden Gate Park. With just one (fabulous) assistant, hired and vetted 30 drivers, managed a fleet of vehicles, and ran military-grade scheduling for high-profile artist transport to and around the 7-stage festival grounds. From planning to execution, this project delivered on-time results and was ultimately under budget. As part of the stellar production team at Another Planet Entertainment, I manage the concerts at the Berkeley Greek Theatre. The Greek is an 8,500-person boutique outdoor amphitheater overlooking the San Francisco Bay. From the stage specs and trucking logistics, sound, lighting and video systems install, right down through artist hospitality and managing a 30 person crew of stagehands, every aspect of the show from the moment it's purchased must be massaged (or beaten) into alignment. Recent artists include: Green Day, Willie Nelson, Adele, Robert Plant, Foster the People, Train, and Peter Gabriel. Show less
