Moved to Sacramento, managed the midtown bakery on Alhambra and 30th St for six years (top sales store in Sacramento at the time). Until the 19th St store was built, this was the busiest Safeway in the Sacramento region. Also managed the Citrus Heights bakery and West Sacramento… Show more Started as a donut fryer in 1991, worked my way up to apprentice, then journeyman baker. Took over as acting bakery manager in Ukiah while current manager was on injury leave. Managed first bakery in Lakeport in 1997. Moved to Sacramento, managed the midtown bakery on Alhambra and 30th St for six years (top sales store in Sacramento at the time). Until the 19th St store was built, this was the busiest Safeway in the Sacramento region. Also managed the Citrus Heights bakery and West Sacramento bakeries for a combined total of about three years. Had a second job at Ye Olde Coffee Mill in Orchard Plaza during part of this time as a dishwasher, prep cook, waiter, and part-time line cook. Also did some part time work for Mitchell's Krazee 8 donuts on the side during my early years with Safeway, around 1993 or 1994: didn't get paid (in money) half the time, just did it to help out two friends that worked there.
