John was a student in my Japanese Business Culture class some years ago, and he had I have kept in contact since that time. Immediately after the class, he did a six-months study/internship in Japan, and I was delighted that he kept me informed about how the class was relevant to his experiences there. Since that time, I've been proud to see John serve the USA in Iraq, and very happy to talk with him at various stages as his civilian career has been unfolding. I'm happy to give him a very strong recommendation.

I built a system for collating, and a team for analyzing, civil-military engagement reports (i.e. meeting reports and observations) across the Iraq Theater of Operations. We then produced a short Daily Summary with analysis for senior leaders both at the Corps (three star) staff level and below. We were told by Corps staff that they started sending our reports up to the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD).
