I am responsible for teaching a class of 12 children and fulfilling office administration for Thrive Ministries. Some of my administrative responsibilities included van maintenance, attendance logging, and digitalizing physical files. As a Program Teacher, I developed personal critical thinking skills through interactions with children and coworkers such as creating new activities to do when situations beyond my control arose. This also improved my adaptability in addressing unforeseen situations, whether that would be staying calm when a van would not start, or restructuring the classes. I also improved upon my collaborative problem solving, which primarily stemmed from discussing potential teaching methods with my coworkers in order to improve the students' experience. Show less

Camp Counselor
-
May 2023 - Jul 2023
During the summer at Camp Ridgecrest for Boys, I had the privilege of being a counselor for high school boys, leading them in Bible studies, outdoor skills, and character development. Through many challenging but fulfilling moments, I became more patient, intentional, and collaborative. Being able to work with creative counselors who had different ways of achieving the same goal allowed me to apply my skills in a unique way, which led to activities that facilitated growth in the campers. The experience provided valuable experience in leadership and adaptability, and I am extremely grateful for the staff at Camp Ridgecrest for Boys who enabled me to perform this role. Show less

Camp Counselor
-
Jun 2021 - Jul 2021
I led campers in student development for approximately 60 hours per week, fostering lasting life skills and character development. In addition, I enhanced maintenance procedures on firearms, lawn care equipment, and vehicles while instructing new staff members, resulting in higher efficiency in camp procedures. This allowed me to delegate and communicate tasks to the new staff, which empowered them and allowed them to excel in their roles. Finally, I organized Bible Studies along with sermons which were given weekly to campers, producing spiritual maturity and vulnerability in nearly 200 young men. Show less
