  In my current position, I oversee all business operations of the store in conjunction with the Captain (Store Manager). As the store’s most tenured Mate (Assistant Manager), I serve as a coach for 9 management peers and 100 crew members and have been described by my team as “patient, empathetic, and a leader who inspires others.” The store has set multiple sales records during this time, including its first $1 million sales week in 2019 and has accomplished this feat twice since then. We routinely rank within the top 100 stores for overall sales and average transaction and continue to see an increase in customer count year over year. In our local community, I’ve worked with food pantries and other neighborhood retail establishments to organize daily donation pick-ups and arranged charitable product donations. Recently, I was featured as a representative of the Danbury Trader Joe’s in Ridgefield Thrift Shop’s social media page for gifting 300 paper bags to their facility after they had posted a need for Trader Joe’s “like” bags. My commitment and attention to detail has twice rewarded me the designation of the lead Mate, in charge of the inventory and review process. I’ve returned high inventory results after identifying products loss opportunities and implementing controls. 98% of my team meets performance expectations with the other 2% actively working toward accomplishing this goal.   In collaboration with the Captain, I successfully led a team with crew morale, sales and inventory opportunities. I assisted the Captain review all operational aspects, including personnel, merchandising, reviewing standards and accountability, resulting in the store accomplishing several record sales weeks. I was recognized by my team for outstanding growth as noted from my Crew Member Surveys, where the team assesses my performance and leadership ability.

  I was selected to the leadership team of the Stamford store in the emerging lower Fairfield County market. This location represented the state’s first new store opening in 8 years. I drew upon my experience to help create an efficient store layout and attractive merchandising. I oversaw the growth of several key departments, interviewed, hired and trained over 70+ staff members and helped the store quickly exceed sales expectations in its first two years.   After an organization restructure, I was transferred to provide support to the management teams at three other Connecticut locations. During this time, I played a vital role in crewmember hiring, training and development. In a short time, I aided each store acquire and retain 15+ talented individuals, many who remain with the company and are top performers to this day.

  In my first role with the company, I was an original crew member hire for the opening of the Danbury store. Quickly noted for my ability to deliver exceptional customer experience, I performed a variety of roles including, demonstrating food samples, processing deliveries and cashier work. My role expanded as I took on the increased responsibility of a Section Leader (Order Writer). Here I maintained perishable and non perishable store departments by ordering replenishment products, maintaining rotation and quality standards and overall brand advocacy. I became a member of the merchandising team where I was mentored in product display planning and creation. I assumed the role of store merchandiser in 2008 and influenced all departments’ merchandising over the next two years. My performance led to a promotion of store Specialist (first year leader) and subsequently to Novitiate. I attended Level 1 & 2 leadership training programs in Massachusetts in preparation for my next role as an assistant store manager. Show less
