John Williams was always a talented and innovative manager, always thinking creatively and "out of the box" in search of solutions for complex IT problems. His management style, and expertise from many years IT experience (including BCBS of Alabama and SunTrust Bank), certainly proved to be valuable to Colonial Bank and now BB&T, in my opinion. I worked with John at BCBS in the 70's, and again at Colonial Bank from 1997 to 2004 so I have first-hand knowledge of John's abilities and leadership style. He has earned the respect of many of his colleagues and I am proud to be one of them. -- Donna Spradley
