The original songs, by Geoff Jackson, Phillip Jewson and Paul Cartledge, are impressively catchy, but also forward the plot along, developing in complexity and texture as our hero becomes a better player. Performed with gusto by newcomer Nick Galitzine, it's a toe-tapping gem that's well worth seeking out.
