Bio
Mike Walters
Captain John Van Vliet was my CO in Charlie Company, !st of the 9th Infantry ( Manchu ) in the Republic of Korea 1974-75. He was, and is undoubtedly still is a great leader; spot on in reference to every task that has to be accomplished. Capt. Van Vliet knew as much , and usually more about every weapons system in the Comapany as the primary operator of the system. He took care of his men and set the example for the other officers and NCO's in the company. Slow to anger and quick to lend a hand to any task. At least one soldier in Charlie Company owes his later life in the U.S. ( and not a Korean prison ) to the quick thinking and swift action of this man. "Keep Up the Fire".

Well not exactly a colleague, but the choices are limited here. I had John for International Management at Shorter and after two Masters degrees, John is by far the most interesting and inspiring professor of my academic career. He is the best.
