  I have over 21 years experience in facilitating and advocating greater understanding, respect and recognition of Traditional Lores and Customs of Great Barrier Reef Traditional Owners in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. I am responsible for providing expert advice in issues effecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, both in a society setting and specifically in regards to management of their sea country. For over 12 years I’ve managed large and small teams of staff to deliver the TUMRA program, which is a Traditional Owner led agreement that recognises Great Barrier Reef Traditional Owners Lores and Customs for looking after their sea country. My work also includes providing culturally based advice within the Authority and respectful partnership/relationship with Traditional Owners. With other staff, I’ve been responsible for leading and/or supporting the delivery of significant programs with Traditional Owners from Torres Straits to Bundaberg, such as the Rezoning of the Marine Park, Reviews of Plans of Management, Legislative Changes - including Native Title, Reef Trust programs, Reef Interventions, Reef Restoration, Curtis Island Offsets Program, Douglas Shoal project, Climate Change initiatives, Environment Assessment, Sea Country Values Mapping and many more. I’ve represented the Authority at National & International Conferences/forums via direct participation through providing presentations or supporting Information booths. I have extensive experience in project/program design/planning and delivery, use of MERI tools, government procurement, contract design and management, facilitating large and small meetings On-country with Traditional Owners. I also have strong and respectful relationship with the executive management and the senior management team of the Authority. I have well established networks with Traditional Owner groups, Department of Environment Services, AIMS, Department of Environment, NRM groups and Land Councils.
