  In my role as Carer at Shore Preparatory After-School Care I have gained a better understanding of differentiation for each student’s developmental stage as I have had to program each term’s lessons and activities. All these roles have require me to meet stated outcomes appropriate to a range of ages. I have also demonstrated my ability to work collaboratively with other team members while interacting with children and parents. This role places a strong emphasis on relationships as part of the wider school community. These relationships have enabled me to gain a better understanding of the needs of each student’s developmental stage and how I can fulfill those needs in my programs and teaching.

  At St Mark's Anglican Church, I have developed my teaching skills with a wide range of students. My programs and lessons are designed to involve the children in meaningful activities that engage their thinking, interest and enthusiasm. Teaching at St Mark’s has taught me how to give clear instruction, how to use appropriate levels of language and effective student management, including giving appropriate feedback to student responses. I regularly evaluate how effective my lessons and activities have been in achieving the stated outcomes and adjust my approach in response to this.
