I worked very closely with John when I was brand manager on the Asahi Beer Portfolio. I found John to be highly commercial as he brought an insight orientated and data driven approach to the brand accounting function. One of John's greatest strengths was being able to interrogate overall spend which created efficiencies and ultimately often realised incremental marketing spend which made my job easier.
