This is a customer facing position that requires listening, communication, and creative skills along with the ability to convey confidence in my recommendations. It is also a back-office position requiring accountability for beginning and ending cash balances, knowledge of store merchandise in all departments to make the filling of online orders more efficient, and attention to detail to ensure all merchandise is properly labeled to facilitate the completion of sales. This was a client-facing position that required effective communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, knowledge of my systems as well as their underlying infrastructure, and the ability to deliver results. Although I supported systems for various departments, most of my responsibilities centered around those used by the Office of the General Counsel (OGC). I upgraded their Matter Management System, replaced and upgraded their Document Management System, and implemented a new system to manage Legal Hold Orders. I performed the software installations on Windows servers and created the necessary shell scripts to execute the client installations. These responsibilities required me to learn the fundamentals of Windows Server 2003 and 2008, Active Directory, NTFS Permissions, File Sharing, and Unix. I also learned the basics of SQL in order to create queries to answer questions not provided by canned reports. Additionally, I contributed to training documentation and conducted training sessions. Because of the nature of OGC’s work, I took it upon myself to respond to attorney, paralegal, and admin desktop support issues plus their other IT requests. To earn their respect and trust, I listened with empathy, communicated with them in non-technical terms, and resolved their issues. Show less
