John managed and delivered a series of active and sustainable travel projects with me for Angus Council through the Smarter Choices Smarter Places programme. His bids were always very well thought through, tailored to the brief and critically, he and his team always delivered as promised. He accommodated our requirements, adapted to cope with changes/challenges, managing to come in on time and budget every time across a wide range of projects. John is very diplomatic, realistic, takes pride in his work, combining a great deal of experience with a willingness to explore new approaches.

John led the development of the sustainable transport component of the Tasmanian Government's climate change strategy. This required extensive consultation to understand the issues, research and analysis to identify strategies and distill these into a comprehensive set of actions. This work was endorsed by Cabinet in November 2013. A further major piece of work John completed during his 10 months with the Tasmanian Cliamte Change Office was the analysis of Tasmania's greenhouse gas emissions and preparation of a report for government and the community on the state's profile and emission trends for the period 1990 - 2011.
