My work involves the design of structural and motion systems for automated equipment, integration of robotic systems and equipment interfaces and the design and build of mechanical, electrical and software components for novel test stands. Development and prototyping of low-cost, motorized prosthetic hand using a bio-interface control schema for use by BMVSS non-profit in Jaipur India. BMVSS is the largest distributor of lower limb prosthesis globally. Manufacturability and durable hardware are priorities of the project, with a distinct focus upon anthropomorphic hand design. The current design relies upon single-DOF, gear transmission, tripod grip hand to minimize low cycle life components and optimize pinch grip and lateral finger rigidity. Show less
