One of the core values on our team is to

Regina C.

You can count on John. His reliability, consistency, and speed-of-problem-solving make John a dazzling treasure of a dev ops engineer. I lost track of the number of times John effortlessly tackled a (seemingly) insurmountable systems issue; indeed, he helped to devise and maintain a secure CICD pipeline for our company’s complex micro-services platform. You can also count on John for passionate conversation about….well, anything. He expresses genuine interest in nearly everything – from cryptocurrency to global politics to cherry trees in Croatia. I am fortunate to have worked with John for the past year at Brighthive. Others should consider themselves lucky to say the same.

I was a member of the Center for Realtor Technology (CRT) Laboratory. I managed and updated the Smarthome checklist web application for realtors and members. For the bulk of my time, I created a web application using Preact, a lightware version of React, to interact with and present environmental data from hardware developed in CRT Lab known as Rosetta Home, an open source home automation system. As an intern in the Mathematics and Computer Science (MCS) division, I worked on the Portable, Extendable Toolkit for Scientific Computation (PETSc) and Scientific Application Web Server (SAWS) projects. PETSc is a scientific library for running high-level computation experiments in physics, chemistry, and engineering. SAWS allowed PETSc to be interfaced through the web browser. The project can be viewed here: https://www.mcs.anl.gov/petsc/ As an intern in the Mathematics and Computer Science (MCS) division, I worked on the Portable, Extendable Toolkit for Scientific Computation (PETSc) and Scientific Application Web Server (SAWS) projects. I developed the Xamarin.Android mobile app known as "Here For You" for the Student Wellness Center at Loyola University Chicago. This is an app which provides college students information about how to report sexual assault or domestic violence to both the school and outside authorities, as well as what can be expected in the process of each report. The application details everything from signs of abuse (from a third party perspective) to the procedures done in a rape kit and links the user to nearby hospitals for optional counseling. The Android application can be seen on the Google Play store here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=edu.luc.mobile.HereForYou&hl=en Show less
