As and insurance agent specializing in real estate, I see lots of appraisals. I have not seen a more thorough or professional appraisal than the appraisals that John and his firm (JSO Valuation Group, Ltd.) produces. If you have questions, I would be happy to discuss his work and the value he can provide.

JSO is an independent fee appraisal firm serving Cook and all of Chicago’s collar counties as well as those down State. Appraisal assignments have also included properties in the States of Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana, Kansas, Florida, Colorado, South Dakota, Minnesota, Maryland, Washington DC, and Georgia, to mention a few. As a general rule we do not like to cross the Rockies. But Seattle is a great city to work-in.have a look at the JSO Valuation Group Facebook page. It would be great to get some feed back of areas that we find interesting. Looking forward to hearing from everyone. Show less

Assisted the set-up of the operations in Illinois (from the commercial loan side) of the Bank which was at the time owned by the Ford Motor Company. This was a bank that expanded in the mid 1980s as rapidly as it contracted. At its height it had $15-billion in assets and prior to its expansion into Illinois in 1987, it declared a $102 million profit in 1986. My role was to assist in the underwriting of the commercial real estate loans and review the competed appraisals as part of the loan process. Surrounded by a very strong and professional group of loan officers lead by Don Pluta, there were no loan defaults out of the Chicago office unlike some of the other states. Show less

Cooper Hill was started by Albert (bud) Dolfinger and as small appraisal firm in Manhattan. Working in New York City, I was to really cut my teeth in the appraisal field. Bud was a great mentor and really pushed me to the place where I am now. Manhattan in your 20s. Definitely the place to be.
