Worked with several parents of Fenwick student athletes to bring a Boys Lacrosse program to Fenwick High School. The first two years were foundational and the school played a Club schedule. In the third year of the program we were officially designated a "B" team and played a complete varsity schedule against both "A" and "B" teams. We ended the first season with an 8 - 7 record. In our second season we qualified for the "B" Division playoffs and went on to win the Lacrosse Cup, the Illinois "B" Division State Championship ending with a record of 14 - 4. We then graduated to the "A" Division in our third full season and lost in the second round of the playoffs to New Trier, the eventual "A" Division State Champion. Final record in 2008, 9 - 6.

I was hired by Code Hennessy Simons in June 2002 to manage and prepare for sale their roofing distribution business, Beacon Roofing Supply. We worked closely with the investment bank Piper Jaffray over a nine month period to educate potential investors about the business and its' prospects for future growth. Uncertainty in the capital markets from the prospect of a second war in the Mid-East resulted in a change of strategy and my leaving the company later in 2003.

    • President Building Systems
      • Jun 1979 - Feb 2002

My career at USG spanned 23 years beginning as a Project Engineer at the Stony Point Plant in New York and ending as President, Building Systems. I served in several General Manager positions as well as Vice-President of sales for United States Gypsum before becoming COO and later President and CEO of L&W Supply. After four years at the helm of L&W I was named President and CEO of USG Interiors where I had responsibility for USG's Ceilings business as well as all International Operations. The success we had at turning around the Ceilings Business resulted in a promotion to the position of President Building Systems.
