For 9 months I covered maternity leave as a Clinical Audit Assistant for the busy Medical Division. In this division I was responsible for the audit projects of 8 directorates including Gastro, Nephrology, Haematology, DME, Diabetes, Cardiology, Respiratory and Palliative Care. I run Audit meetings and audit management meeting for all directorates and managed a caseload of upto 30/40 on-going clinical audit projects at any one time. I provided all the assistance needed for the clinicians to complete a professional clinical audit from start to finish. As a Clinical Audit Clerk I assisted with the management of Audit projects, including audits of NICE guidance. Designing databases using Access and Formic (optical character recognition system) for analysis. I was responsible for assisting with dissemination of NICE guidance to relevant Trust staff, collating responses regarding compliance and updating the Trust's NICE database. I searched the hospital information system to obtain audit information aswell as collecting audit data by examining patient's case notes before creating Power Point presentations ready for dissemination at Audit meetings. I prioritised my own workload. I was responsible for allocating work to the Records Clerks and monitoring their progress ensuring timescales were met.
