Responsible for ensuring Quality Engineering requirements of the RFQ (Request for Quotation) are identified and communicated to all relevant areas of the business during quotation process. I work closely with the Aftermarket Dept. by way of preparing Inspection and Test Plans (ITP's) for Spares Orders (critical components). Compilation of quality documents and information as required by the Sales Dept. which support purchasing enquiries for material. Compilation of quality documents and information as required by the RFQ for inclusion in bids. Reviewing of order packages/specifications with the aim to identify any changes/new quality requirements to those agreed in quotation process. Observation of company quality systems ensuring they are effective and that corrective actions are taken where necessary. Continuous development and improvement of quality engineering processes and procedures, making recommendations as to where process improvements can be made. Familiarisation of BEL Valves quality related Business Process Procedures and Standard Operational Procedures and the requirements of various Quality Standards such as ISO 9000 and industry standards as given by ASME, ANSI, API etc. Show less

Reporting to the Quality Manager. Responsibilities are to single handedly run the Process Control Laboratory and to provide technical advice/support to the Production department. Prepare and qualify weld procedure test plates that comply with Defence Standard 03-34, BS EN and EN ISO15614-1 and other nationally recognised standards in the following materials: - Armour steel, High Strength Quench & Tempered steel, Carbon steel, Aluminium alloys Experience of the following welding processes: - FCAWGS, MMA, MIG/MAG, mechanised MAG. Carry out NDT using DPI, MPI plus Radiographic Interpretation. Maintain the company's welder approval system to BS EN 287 to suit current projects Investigate defects and/or component failures and provide repair procedures.
