John Kirk is hands down one of the greatest, and most influential, people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with in my career and I hold him in the highest of regard. I hesitate to say that his love for advertising and design is rivaled only by his love for bacon. He’s truly one of the best people in the business, and he’s an even better person. During the years I worked for him as a Senior Art Director, I learned a lot about approach and problem-solving not only as it pertained to projects but also to people and professional-relationship building. John is a heady, steady guiding creative force that is focused, fair, fun and honest. As any good creative director will do, he can be brutally honest when it comes to discussing the merit of an idea or tactical execution but he does so in a way that is constructive, not destructive, and doing so with the intent of not tearing a person down but building the project solution up. I respect the way he conducts himself immensely, his opinions and critiques, and the values he fights for when it comes to the resulting industry product he’s been tasked to develop. John’s easy-going yet hard-working, passionate and compassionate, possesses strong conceptual skills, and will always defend or champion a great design or idea if it meets the criteria of the project objective—even if it’s unconventional. He strives to provide the client with a solution or perspective that is on-target, wholly unique and ownable to their brand. Regardless of the amount of awards he’s won, he’s always willing jump in to help no matter the role needed, making him a leader not only in title but also by example. He trusts his employees implicitly and holds them accountable which, as a professional, I greatly appreciate as traits in a department director and mentor. I consider him to be a great friend, a great evaluator of talent, a great industry resource, an invaluable asset to any team that he is part of or presides over and recommend him without hesitation. To put it simply, John Kirk is amazing at what he does and wherever the opportunity arises, they will be fortunate to have him and his talents at the ready.

John is an outstanding creative director. I appreciate his ability to look at situations from a unique perspective, yet still remain focused on the objective. Strategy is such an important aspect of the creative process and is often forgotten as the process moves forward, but John's strength is in his ability to push the creative envelope within the boundaries of the strategy. John was always a pleasure to work with and the results exceeded my expectations.
