Group Leader, Advanced Development
-
Jun 2004 - Jan 2007
In addition to my previous research and university link roles, returning to the functional manager role as group leader of a small team developing new 'connected systems' concepts in the Advanced Systems Laboratory such as NFC tags on mobile phones initiating actions on home entertainment devices. Still filing patent applications, my last one being for position sensing using ludspeakers as microphones. If my counting is correct, it worked out at 36 patent applications for nearly 36 years in the electronics industry before retiring. A few months before I left, the Philips Semiconductors division was sold and became NXP Semiconductors.
