• Ecosystem building through engagement with multiple start-ups and an incubator based in the USA. This involved identifying and evaluating start-ups that were of interest to businesses, engaging with them directly, facilitating introductions and legal agreements, project planning and tracking as well as progress reporting to stakeholders. Another requirement was strategy development and implementation. Prior to engagement, analysis of the incubator was carried out to identify which businesses could benefit.• Building a business case for a new product opportunity. This involved liaising with R&D, development, commercial teams, IP strategy development, risk analysis, financial model contributions and stakeholder reporting. • Progressing my previous role with the corporate innovation team, I was responsible for building and maintaining relationships with external collaborators and customers as well as moving projects forward. • I have been overseeing innovation project development through the NPI process, making sure that all the criteria are met to allow it to progress to the next stages. This required taking a view on the EHS requirements, scale up routes and supply chains, the customer value proposition and product performance.• Identification of challenges existing within JM’s business units and sourcing of solutions either within or outside of the company. This has involved developing a technical understanding of a range of technologies (e.g. battery materials and hydrogen fuel cells including their manufacturing processes and challenges faced in development, along with the wider knowledge of how they fit in to the value chain of their respective markets.
