I then produced construction drawings of the proposed works to be carried out. • Assisted the assessment of domestic and commercial planning applications for water and waste water connections and planning searches by preparing maps and technical reports recommending if connection should proceed or if local authority was in charge of services. • Assisted in preparing for Environmental Protection Agency audits of the waste water treatment plants. Duties such as gathering sample results, flows and using this data to prepare a Public Awareness Folder. I was also present at these audits. • Assisted in surveying domestic houses for the installation of water meters. I also monitored non-domestic water meters for leak detection. Assisted in organising and carrying out non-domestic water meter disconnections. • Prepared and presented a draft Performance Management System to be utilised for two major water and waste water treatment plants. • Carried out risk assessments on water and waste water treatment sites. From these risk assessments necessary works lists were prepared to help mitigate potential health and safety issues.

      • Conduct daily cone tests on the two aeration tanks to determine the solid content in the tanks. • Sample daily the water intake and outlet of the plant. Also sample daily the two aeration tanks and return activated sludge tank. • Test the samples daily for Mixed Liquor Suspended Solids and pH. The intake and outlet samples were also tested for a Chemical Oxygen Demand, Biochemical Oxygen Demand, Conductivity and Ammonia. • On a weekly basis the plant network was tested. These samples were tested for the same parameters as the intake and outlet samples. • Analysed the results obtained from the tests and reported any abnormal readings to my supervisor. • Record the flow readings in the plant and using Microsoft Excel calculate the daily flow through the plant and the volume in the storm water return tank, from these readings the population equivalent was calculated. • The percentage of solids in the sludge was also tested daily for both presses. • All the results obtained were recorded on Microsoft Excel for any further analysis required in the future.
