  I do all purchasing of materials, services (transport, NDT, cranes, hiring of equipment), consumables & PPE for a fabrication yard. I also cover the stores & store man’s duties as and when required (I moved from being the store man to purchaser 9 years ago). When material and equipment is received, I check, mark-up and store the certification in the business management system to maintain traceability and make said certification available for QA/QC retrieval.
