  In this role, I was tasked with Re-designing the existing Tote routing and processing system to utilize newer communications technology, and unify routing algorithms across 7 different warehouses each having unique layout, hardware, WMS interfaces and routing rules and conditions. In this position, I was also required to support the existing systems. The existing systems (C++) were written over 15 years ago, and are completely separate code bases for each distribution center. Communications hardware ranged from RS-232 to SDS, Profibus, to ethernet based hardware. I am also tasked with evaluation of proposed automation solutions for the warehouse, and potential uses for collected data. Including timing studies, comparison analysis, and vendor product evaluation.In addition, I have developed an engineering documentation standard, and a core framework of code libraries and design practices for future automation systems.
