  I could not resist the opportunity to go back to where I started in 1966 and teach part time at the same school, on the slopes of Mount Kenya. I found the textbooks were the same ones as thirty years before, one with the name of my former student Francis Maina inside the front cover!!! A chance to reconnect with a lot of former students.   Entertaining highly gifted music scholars as a housemaster for one very busy year. Still in contact with some of the pupils there. There was a marvellous headmaster, Peter Hannigan. It is a case of very lucky me to have had that experience. This is probably what education should be, although I do not know the choristers' views. Certainly they did not waste a minute.
