      Elected to the Board of Education for District 49 in 2015 under the platform that education should have community involvement and local solutions. Your school district is the center of your community. A successful school district requires the involvement and support of not only parent, teachers, and staff, but the businesses, empty-nesters, property owners, and residents within that local community. We are all stakeholders of our school district. For a child to have a successful educational experience we require the "Triangle of success" which means to be successful that student needs to be involved in their own pathway of education, the parent/guardian needs to be supportive and involved, and the teacher needs to be empowered to reach that student and teach the material in a way each student will understand it.
