Evidence-based training with fidelity to significantly improve outcomes in systems where behavior modification in clients/patients could improve their outcomes for mental, behavioral, and/or physical health. Tailored training & feedback is provided to individuals for improving their behavior change communication via the best-practice method known as MI, based off the Motivational Interviewing Treatment Integrity (MITI) in the past. Now the the fidelity coding and coaching is based off a tool that was built on the shoulders of these author's as independently validated compared to the MITI tool, co-authored with Casey, Jackson, Ali Hall, John Gilbert and Dr. Susan Butterworth. The tool is known for being about the qualitative mindset of coaching (MI spirit + aware and proactive intentions with MI) more so than other tools that focus on techniques that can lead to trainees focusing on techniques at the expense of the MI spirit and intentions of long-term behavior changes. The tool is being utilized internationally around the world and is known as the Motivational Interviewing Competency Assessment (MICA - https://www.ifioc.com/mica-coding/) www.ifioc.com
