      John is currently working with the charity 'Engineers Without Borders' as a Placement Manager in order to manage and implement two voluntary placements in rural Nepal. As part of this voluntary role John was initially responsible for working with the partner organisation (Learning Planet - Nepal) in order to the create the individual project outlines and create detailed proposals which were used in order to secure funding and support within Engineers Without Borders. John has continued to work with Learning Planet and Engineers without Borders in order to progress the placements and find suitable volunteers to fulfill the roles. The first placement project that John is organising aims to finds a suitable volunteer to construct a reliable IT & communications infrastructure through the use of a wireless mesh network within mountainous rural Nepal becoming the first fully functioning, rural community owned Internet Service Provider in Nepal. Furthermore the second placement project aims to find a volunteer to assist in the provision of safe clean drinking water to the some 5,000 inhabitants within the communities of Dhawa in rural Nepal. At present John has continued to manage both projects carrying out multiple interviews and selecting volunteers, securing funding and progressing the project in support of the partner organisation.
