I left the firm in 2001 when Ms. Presby left and the firm dissolved its civil litigation practice to focus exclusively on criminal defense.   After graduating from law school, I served a one-year judicial clerkship as briefing attorney for the Honorable Gordon H. Rowe, Associate Justice of the Court of Appeals for the Fifth District of Texas at Dallas. There, I had the pleasure of working with future Texas Supreme Court Justices Nathan Hecht, Craig Enoch, and James Baker. I attended appellate oral arguments each week that the court was in session and participated in the post-submission conferences where the justices debated how to resolve the appeals. I assisted in writing ninety-six appellate opinions, none of which were reversed by a higher court. Show less
