  Develop programs and provide expertise to help recovery of Puget Sound ecosystems, especially related to endangered species, harvestable resources and recovery from impacts of industrial pollution. Initiated and helped develop the Commencement Bay Stewardship Collaborative, a $4.9M public-private partnership to manage a collection of restoration sites on Commencement Bay in perpetuity, as part of NOAA’s Damage Assessment, Remediation and Restoration Program. Initiated, developed and was instrumental in passing 2014 NOAA national policy on long-term stewardship of Natural Resources Damage Assessment Sites (NRDA) around the U.S. Advise NRDA cases across the country on long-term stewardship of restoration sites. Develop public events and field tours with Congressional, federal, state agency and nonprofit representatives to promote the NOAA Restoration Center.

  Provided management oversight for 11,000 acres including approximately 5,000 acres in easements, from the Pacific Coast and Olympia Peninsula to Puget Sound, Cascades and Eastern Washington. Led Green City Partnerships, public-private ventures with Seattle, Tacoma, Kirkland, Redmond and Kent, to engage urban communities in restoring open space. Helped secure over $8M in federal appropriations, estuary stewardship grants and contributed to successful Seattle Park levies. Directed fee-based conservation planning and stewardship services on non-Forterra lands with public and private partners. Served as representative on state committees that include Washington Forestry Technical Working Group to address climate change, DNR Aquatic Lands Review Committee, and the Washington Association of Land Trusts.

  Managed and developed place-based strategic plans (ecoregional assessments) for the northwest, including areas British Columbia, Alaska, Washington Idaho and Oregon. Led outreach efforts to distribute TNC's science and planning information with the goal to influence agencies and NGOs to share and implement similar place-based priorities. Served on the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Committee's proposal review panel and the Science Committee of the Washington Biodiversity Council. Helped audit TNC science programs for TNC Rocky Mountain Division (includes MT, WY, CO, AZ, NM, UT). Helped lead national TNC writer workshops to promote publication of TNC science. Conducted workshops with outside experts to improve selection of priority landscapes.
