    • Design Release Engineer, Technical Lead General Motors Corporation
      • May 2014 - Feb 2019

During my time as a contract Engineer at General Motors, I developed engineering solutions according to a physics-based root cause analysis. I frequently coordinated comprehensive plastic component development, from initial concept through production release. I routinely created Engineering Work Orders (EWO), addressing PRTS, Warranty, Continuous Improvement, and Launch Issues and Changes. Consistently managing all issues and tracking all EWO-related components. I oversaw technical and commercial discussions with potential tool suppliers, optimizing designs to achieve institutional goals. I also integrated sourcing packages and tooling for prototype and production. I engaged in travel to seat JIT plants and GM assembly plants to thoroughly understand all issues and collaborate with cross-functional team to provide sound resolutions. I often partnered with the plastics team to design lessons learned for closed loop learning. Additionally, I capitalized on numerous processes and tools, including PPAP, DFMEA, DRBFM, PFMEA and material selection. Some of the key accomplishments of my time in this role include the successful launch of front seat plastic trim panels for two Cadillac programs, in addition to resolving a cracked side shield issue on a K2 full size truck program. I led development of a new patent-pending seat belt latch retention system that effectively resolved issues related to latches rattling and presenting safety concerns. Moreover, I spearheaded design change and implementation on a Cadillac back panel that continuously fell off. Show less

Throughout my time at AM General, I oversaw complete body design engineering of Military vehicles. I routinely conducted numerous seating and human-factor studies, identifying potential issues and developing effective resolutions. I also engaged in clearance studies, incorporating GD&T into PMI. Additionally, I coordinated drawing development, aiding in design engineering. Significant contributions that I made in this role include creating a light-weight battery tray for the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV). I played a key role in creating an ambulance enclosure for the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV). I collaborated on body structure for a blast-mitigating belly pan, as well as reviewed and analyzed numerous blast-mitigating seat structures. Show less

While at Magna Seating, I spearheaded data management and studies, utilizing Teamcenter on-site at GM. I routinely capitalized on previous design experience to develop cost-saving proposals. I facilitated comprehensive operations of a seat system design, from initial concept through manufacturing, including frames, foam, electrical and Class A surfacing of injection and blow-molded parts, packaging, swing studies, and layout development. I developed Drawings and Dimensions including GD&T of all components. I promoted DCS compliance of all General Motors Files. Additionally, I established strategic relationships with manufacturing sources to ensure manufacturability on seat frame design, quality, and build processes. Show less
